The influence Michelangelo had on Bernini is depicted in multiple different ways, including symbolism and iconography of  posing of the figures and the facial features; the similarities of technique such as drapery, musculature, and  preparation of work; and the themes of the works, which are both mythological and religious. These influences can be seen in some of his most important pieces of art and were used as he created his own art throughout the rest of his lifetime.
